We followed-up with a few Northwestern Master’s students in a great spot over in the Library. This time I plugged in directly to a high-resolution flat screen TV. So much better than projectors. Way to go Northwestern.
As with DePaul, we followed a highly structured tutorial to learn the skills and benefits of using a database.
It was a small group so we were able to address really specific questions which again was a great learning experience for me. One of the students had direct experience with FileMaker through a marketing research “day job.” It was thoroughly helpful for me both in learning about how people use Velvet Singer and also in brainstorming ways to reach more people. Thank you, thank you.

The workshop was incredibly helpful in understanding how to use the power of this tool. The system takes all the things I’m doing — or should be doing — and puts it in one place — the folders for auditions in my email inbox, the excel sheets of YAPs I’ve applied to and auditioned for, the copies of applications, the list of coachings & lessons I’ve paid for…and all of the pieces of information contained in your Velvet Singer speak to each other! I’ve explored other methods, and I honestly think that Bill has developed the best. And he’s a super teacher who is passionate about making sure you understand how to use the product. I appreciate that this product was designed by a singer, and he actually uses it, too. It’s the best option out there for a singer who doesn’t yet have an agent.
